To to verify this is the problem, just jumper the two pins in the connector and attempt to open the top. It should now work. Now you have three options. 1. Leave the jumper in and put everything back into place. 2. Attempt to reattach the wiper arm. This may stay in place or it may not. It depends on how bent it is.
BMW Z4 - Key Remote Programming Three methods to try: Method 1: 1. Working from within the vehicle and with the doors shut 2. Turn ignition to position 1 and back to off within 5 seconds. 3. Electric window problems. New to BMW Forum - collected 2010 Z4 about 1 month ago and love it but have had problems already! When lowering or raising the roof, the drivers side window drops by approx 3 inches after going fully up. Pressing the 'roof open or close' button or the 'window close' button rectifies this ie the window closes again.
Really have not been driving much as I drive my BMW Motorcycle more often. In any event, I ended up dropping $300 for a new battery. Got that resolved and was enjoying driving it around. Little cool in fall but finally a nice day so I dropped the roof at a stoplight and enjoyed cruzin around with the top down.
Because of this, the car thinks the trunk is still open which restricts me from operating the hard top. It seems to work (seal shut) intermittently and sometimes even while I'm driving or when I close my car door, but 90% of the time it doesn't work. BMW quoted me $891.27 for "the entire rear trunk lock and mechanism" + labor.
Hey guys, I have a 2004 Z4. The roof stuggles to open and close. To the point now it works good in the beginning of the season and stops after a month or two all together. This year it won't budge. Latches work fine, and motor is whirring strong. I think it's a hydraulic fluid issue, but
Try pressing the pressing the down button again and see if the light goes out or raise then lower the roof again. I can well believe it's a BMW fault - could be a ECU fault which may require reprogramming when BMW finally find the solution - will be warranty work though so I wouldn't worry about that. AND YES, THE REPAIR COST IS $2000-$3000 AND THERE IS A REASON FOR IT. THE POWER ROOF MOTOR IS ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE Z4 BELOW THE ROOF. IT HAS AN (8) EIGHT HOUR DIS-ASSEMBLE ORDER, AND AT $75-$100 (PLUS) PER HOUR IN REPAIR COST, YOU ARE LOOKING AT OVER $1000 DOLLARS JUST TO "GET TO THE POWER MOTOR".
